1. Acceptance of Terms

By using Tide ("the Bot"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Bot.

Tide is a Discord bot that provides AI-powered stock market analysis and price alerts. The Bot is operated by an individual developer ("we", "us", "our").

2. Description of Service

Tide offers the following features through Discord slash commands: /analyze, /price, /alert, /configure, /help.

2.1 BYO-LLM Model

Tide allows users to bring their own API keys for OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, or OpenRouter. When you provide an API key:

• The key is encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM encryption
• The key is only decrypted in memory during LLM API calls
• Keys are never logged, shared, or transmitted outside the Bot's analysis pipeline
• You are responsible for all costs incurred through your own API keys

3. User Obligations

By using Tide, you agree that you will not:

• Use the Bot for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse engineer, exploit, or disrupt the Bot
• Use the Bot to transmit malware, spam, or harmful content
• Exceed rate limits through automation or multi-account abuse
• Provide API keys obtained through unauthorized means

4. Financial Disclaimer

IMPORTANT: Tide is a research and analysis tool. It is NOT financial advice.

• The Bot provides AI-generated analysis based on market data and language models
• Analysis may contain errors, hallucinations, or outdated information
• The Bot does NOT provide buy, sell, or trade recommendations
• Past performance does not guarantee future results
• Always conduct your own research before making investment decisions
• Consult a licensed financial advisor for personalized advice

You assume all risk for trading and investment decisions made based on information provided by the Bot.

5. Intellectual Property

The Tide name, branding, and original code are proprietary. User-generated analysis output may be shared freely.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• The Bot is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind
• We are not liable for any financial losses, damages, or missed opportunities arising from use of the Bot
• We are not liable for service interruptions, data inaccuracies, or third-party API failures
• We are not liable for actions taken based on AI-generated analysis
• Our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the past 12 months

7. Service Availability

We strive to keep Tide available 24/7 but do not guarantee uptime. The Bot may be offline for maintenance, updates, or due to circumstances beyond our control.

8. Privacy

Your use of Tide is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Bot for violations of these terms.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Bot after changes constitutes acceptance.
